Don't forget, I'd love to see your layouts, cards or projects made from any of my sketches. Just link me in the comments!

I’m incredulous that my kiddos are returning (or leaving for) school and summer is done. Pools are closing (no no no!!!) and the parks will soon long for the sounds of kids.
This new sketch is dedicated to all the babies we’re missing while they return to school…
This one was inspired by Kim. She’s my son’s girlfriend and is just about one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. With luck, these two will make it four years and beyond. No matter what, I hope Kim’s dreams come true.
Dedicated to Kim. (Featuring papers by Fancy Pants - Kewl line.)
I’ve been wandering around lately with my camera in hand constantly it seems and altering photos to my liking. So today, our sketch was inspired by the back of my camera, simplified. I love being inspired by the simplest of things… (and no, my camera is not red. Red is just how I’m feeling today.)
Today has become a beautiful day though very humid. I love the sun shining between the branches on the trees and the pinks, fuschia’s and white’s showing on the Crepe Myrtles all around. Definitely a great day to be inspired…
and man is it hot! Decided once I got the View out today to take a bit of a break and try to enjoy some outdoor time with my little guy… that lasted about 5 seconds (and I’m being generous…).
Instead I came inside and watched my little guy and my middle guy play video games. Taylor wasn’t feeling well (just bad bad allergies) and Dalton was more than happy to have him to hang out with today. (Can I tell ya how much I’m gonna miss him when he leaves for school?)
So, here’s a sketch I finished up today and will hopefully have more tomorrow.
Enjoy!
I love water. Today, hot and muggy, is a great day for water play. That’s just what happened! Our little guy was invited to a water birthday party and they soaked each other and all the grown ups too with tons of water! Big water guns were the party favors and this was what it inspired.
Inspired by all the romantics in the world who keep their old love letters in a bundle only to be found and read one day when you need a smile. Edges are not so edgy but worn and yellow, ribbons are faded and you can tell these photos or letters have been looked at and read, time and time again…
Yep - my oldest child becomes a legal adult… That’s right - he’s old, I’m old, we’re all old because yes America, look out. A new LEGAL rebel is born.
To celebrate, here are two new sketches for you!
I was up so early this morning and watched the sun rise. It was a peaceful morning, the kind you really wish came fore often than just once every blue moon. All I was missing was a cup of coffee for a picture perfect moment. Ah well, the inspiration it gave me was good enough for me today.
This was inspired by a picture I found recently of my niece when she first started piano lessons. Momma would have been so pleased to hear her play!
So, here it is - A Star is Born!
Have you noticed the trend now in scrapping is gorgeous one photo layouts? We’re getting more and more artistic with our scrapbooking and shying away from a lot of the moments or every day things that we’re doing with our lives. Honestly, if I tried to do this all the time, I’d never get all my photos scrapped that I want to scrap. (I know I’ve mentioned it before. I’ll be well over 100 by the time I scrapped all my photos and that’s if I stopped taking pictures today!) So, I have been creating more two page, multi photo layouts lately to help the process.
Here’s my latest two page sketch; very very simple with lots of room for interpretation and change. See what you can do with it!
I was taking out some digital kits this morning looking for some of my older work, and I got inspired by the different cases in which I have my discs stored. It really struck me! So here ya go - hope it strikes something in you too!
Happy Independence Day to all! Today is a simple sketch but you can dress it up with all your favorite embellies! I really wanna see your imaginations go nuts here! So let’s go!
Wow… we’ve officially finished half the year already. I can’t beleive we’re this far int0 2007 already. We’ve got a lot to accomplish in the coming weeks! Wow!
Here’s your sketch of the day. Hope you enjoy! Decided to get into the whole “white space” thing. Fill it how you might. I can’t wait to see what you do with it!
Here’s a whimsical layout for you today! Hope you have fun with this one!
Here’s the last one in this series. Hope you share what you’ve done with this series. I hope to get busy on mine today!
Egads, Mondays are so iffy… who really wants to get out of bed on a Monday? I like being a little lazy on Mondays just so I can ease into the week. Today, I’m not easing into anything… today I got kicked in the stomach by a little boy who wandered into our bed in the middle of the night to sleep with his head toward the bottom of the bed and his feet dangerously close to my face. And with a very unceremonious “WHOMP” I was awakend by said kick and decided sleeping in was not on my agenda for the day.
So, what better way to spend your morning than playing on the computer, eh?
Okay, surely you all have some kind of idea where I’m going with this.
I know this will probably give this away but anybody have a clue what’s going on with these two sketches (yesterday and today)?
Here’s a teaser sketch for you. See what you think might be coming from this..
It’s really summer. The kids are all out of school and they’re already bored. Too funny…
There will be plenty of opportunities to take pictures of fun and facinating activities so we need to be ready for it! If we scrapped every single page as a single photo page, we’d be 100 before we conquered their first five years wouldn’t we?
So, with that in mind, here’s today’s sketch! Hope you enjoy!
To Honor Father’s Day I bring you four CARD sketches! These are all “photo cards” in that each one features a photograph. For Father’s Day you might want to use a photo of you and Dad, your kids wishing Granddad a Happy Grandfather’s Day etc. Try using your favorite picture of you or a fav of your dad. For a nostalgic feel, what about a photo of Dad holding you as a baby and see what emotions that one brings.
Inside each card, write your own sentiment or just a letter to your dad letting him know what he means to you.
I REALLY want to see your examples of these! See what you can come up with! Not just for Father’s Day - how about anniversary, birthday, birth announcements, just because, or anything else. And picture this using a photo of a place, an object, a sunset, just about anything. Let your imagination be your guide!
Last week was such a whirlwind of activity I could hardly breathe! If you read my blog, you can get an idea of what all I did last weekend, so you can imagine the preparations that went into it.
So, today I bring you a sketch that I actually put together a little bit ago. It will hopefully be a layout dedicated to Move In Day when T goes to Longwood this fall!
Wednesdays are always fun days for me. For some reason, because they’re taking me into the home stretch of my week, I love having the chance to just sit back a bit on Wednesdays and breath easier. Anyone else love Hump Day?
So here’s my “breathing easy” sketch today!
Oh yeah - I’ve got the sleepy bug… I think when school is out, you won’t find me up at this hour any more! I’m ready to be alseep again and, shhh…. don’t tell…. I took a wee nap yesterday! It was sooo nice to just lie down for those few moments. I didn’t wake entirely refreshed but I did get up feeling better than before!
So today’s sketch is all about the circles of sleep (life). I wish I could have this many “circles” (aka sleeps) in a day! *grins*
Well good Monday Morning to everyone! Since Mondays are always kind of slow starting, it followed suit that I was too today. So, today’s sketch it is kind of plain Jane too. I’d love to see this one dressed up a bit, (thinking chipboard and flourishes)…
Have a go and share yours won’t you?
Today marks our first 8.5 x 11 sketch… I love ribbon and was thinking I might use ribbon on this one behind the photo instead of patterned papers.
What would you use? (Show me, Link me!)
